Video Transcript: Diagnosed with Peritoneal Mesothelioma - Telling Your Family
When I shared the information with them the first thing they did was cry. And that pretty much jerked my heart out of my throat. Because I didn’t know what to exactly tell them except for the truth ...and straight. Because I am a pretty straightforward shooter. And then let them kind of digest it, and then they cried, and then they had 20 zillion questions. They asked me what it meant for my life and how was I going to function? They were more worried about what it was going to do to me. And once they realized that I was strong and that I had built my reinforcements and backed myself up against a wall and I’m coming out fighting, they said, “Brenda is going to be okay; she is going to be fine regardless of what the results are."
