Video Transcript: Mary Jane Describes Chemotherapy to Treat Mesothelioma
The one chemo I had... I’m trying to think of the name of... I can’t right offhand right now, but it’s called the Red Devil. It was a tough chemo. You get very sore; I couldn’t move. I couldn’t sit up by myself. I had about a week of that. And then the next week I’d go back, and I had two other chemos that were mixed. I was very nauseous with that. Then you would have a week off, and this went on for five months. The more chemo you get, the worse it would get. But the way I looked at it, it was hurting, and I was in pain, but it was killing my cancer cells, and that’s all I cared about. And I have to say, the last two chemos, I called my doctor and talked to his assistant. And I said, "I can’t do this anymore. You guys are killing me; you’re burning me up inside." And his assistant, who is an angel, told me she would talk to the doctor but chances are you are going to have to finish it. They gave me another week off, and I was fine. And I did it, and I thank God I did it.
