As far as other people who are facing this ... for me, research was the best thing. I mean I know some people pray, but I wanted to know everything I possibly could, in order to deal with it on a day-to-day basis,,,. on a medical, scientific basis to help not only my dad, but potentially my brother in the future. But, I know that information can be used to assist other patients. So, I just say be an active participant in the process, because otherwise, you will feel like you are completely incapable of helping. But as long as you have knowledge, and you can participate in care--in scheduling for doctors appointments, bringing dinners over, taking dogs for walks, whatever you can do--just be active and be a strong participant in the process, even though it's horrible.
