Video Transcript: Mary Jane Helps Others With Mesothelioma

What I do now: I feel that God has given me a reason to live. So, I go to New York with people; I sit with them to have their chemo; I go with them for their surgeries... because I know what that did for me. My mentor is still here today. That is what keeps me going. I want to help people to go through this. And give them positive: "Look, I did it; you can do it. It’s not the end of the world." I get as much from that as they do. Everyone thanks me, but I thank them because I get a lot out of that. I love my doctor. He will see me walk in the hall, and he will just look at me and nod his head and grin because he knows I am there for somebody. But, I love it, and I love going for these people. The downside is, you know, not everybody makes it. I have lost some very, very good friends. But the upside is there's a lot of good that are making it. And we are all family. We are truly family. We come to our symposiums, and we can’t wait to see each other. I would never have these people. I would never have the experiences. I would not have the friends and ....just how I appreciate life. I told my husband... we have been married almost 40 years, and I knew he loved me, but I had no idea how much he loved me. And I’m very lucky, and my family is so supportive, every one of them. So, I am very fortunate.
