Video Transcript: Wife and Family of Mesothelioma Victim React to Pleural Mesothelioma Diagnosis

It was a shock of course. And I think the approach that we took was that is was best to be knowledgeable about what was happening and try and take action to prolong my dad’s life. In a manner that was livable for as long as possible. Because back when he was diagnosed in September 2001 I had actually spoken to the doctor that diagnosed him and he pointed out a lot of things for us to consider.  One that most patients die within 6-18 months, two that my dad who was 77 at the time was pretty old, and to have any sort of invasive treatments might not be that good for somebody that old. But, I guess, taking all that information, just knowing that there could possibly be something done, we just all just tried to move in that direction.
