I think the toughest part was leaving our daughter behind... a lot. We traveled from Missouri to New York. My parents were retired and lived in Florida. They moved to Missouri to take care of her so we could go and get treatment. But it was not just my parents. It was, I hate to say the words, that it takes a village…but really, it was that. It took a village to raise my daughter for a year.
