Video Transcript: Ernie Discusses the Decision to File an Asbestos Lawsuit

I never met a person who wants to grab a lawyer and go sue somebody for a hot cup of coffee. At the time I gave it some serious thought. And that is the only time in my life that I have ever considered obtaining a lawyer and suing somebody. Because of the asbestos factor around it. This really irritated me. So, I thought, I am going to find a lawyer. I don’t know who to contact. I didn’t know anything about legal people to talk to. The only process I would say I would be involved with was giving my history of employment with companies. The only other thing of the involvement would be taking a deposition. Basically that would be the things I was involved with. I wasn’t involved much further than that, I don’t think. Of course I would like to have been involved…I would have liked to choke somebody to death who hid the asbestos from me. That is as much as I can say about the legal thing. The only other thing I can say about legal professional lawyers is sometimes people degrade these people, but sometimes it takes legal people to bring out a problem to people. They don’t know that a problem exists or something until an attorney brings this problem out. People don’t always look at them bringing it out; they always look at the bad side. If these people allowed companies to manufacture this for approximately 80-85 years and make huge profits off of it, and then they want to be bailed out with not having to pay out to people they gave a disease to.... when I say gave to them; they gave it to them because these manufacturers.... most of them were aware that asbestos created a problem with heath. And when they are aware of this problem, I definitely think they should pay to cover the cost of the problem. I totally believe that with a passion. If you have mesothelioma I definitely think you should get an attorney. I don’t think you should wait around for a long period of time to think about it. If you have mesothelioma you should contact an attorney as quick as possible.  Because of your health conditions, you might reach a point where you won’t be able to do anything with an attorney.  So you need to contact one as soon as possible. So your health can be in a condition to relate with them. I think that would be a lot. Because you really don’t know how the meso would be affecting you or how it would affect your lifespan. Some people, it could be a short lifespan; for some it could be a long lifespan. So I think it would be very important to contact an attorney as soon as possible.
