Video Transcript: Man Exposed to Asbestos Develops Peritoneal Mesothelioma

Asbestos exposure was the only known cause. We were trying to figure out how, where he was exposed. He knew he grew up in an asbestos-sided house. We knew his parents worked at GM, and his dad worked on transmissions, and his mom worked on brake line. He worked in a chemical company. There were boilers in there, and stuff that were covered with asbestos, but he never really worked on them. He had seen it obviously, and it was around him. So, could he have been exposed there? Possibly. It was just a matter of elimination. The period of how long it takes to be exposed and then develop asbestos, we pretty much came to the conclusion that it was probably through his parents. And being peritoneal and knowing that you have had to ingest it. He remembers his mom coming home in her coveralls and cooking dinner. Things like that. That is the only thing that he can really think of that he was exposed to.
