Video Transcript: Doctors Unfamiliar with Rare Abdominal Asbestos Cancer

I had never heard of mesothelioma before this. I couldn’t even pronounce the name of the disease. I had never heard of it until after the biopsy. They were sending off the biopsy slides to three different places to get the confirmation, and what they said to me was that they’re not very aware of the disease... they have only read about it. They didn’t know what the treatment would be. But they definitely knew that there was going to be surgery involved and chemotherapy. He said the disease was terminal.
