Malignant Mesothelioma
Often called just “mesothelioma,” malignant mesothelioma is cancerous, derived from malignant tumors. Just as with other forms of cancer, malignant tumors are those are cancerous, while benign tumors are not cancerous. Malignant mesothelioma starts in the chest cavity 75% of the time (pleural mesothelioma), while another 10-20% begin in the abdomen (peritoneal mesothelioma). The rarest are pericardial mesothelioma, occurring in the lining of the heart, and testicular, occurring in the ducts and glands in the testes.
