Epithelioid Mesothelioma
Also called “epithelioid” or “epithelial,” this kind of mesothelioma is the most common form, accounting for 50-70% of total cases. Offering patients the most relatively treatable outlook, epithelioid mesothelioma occurs in membranes and tissues that cover organs and other internal bodily surfaces. It responds to chemotherapy, and is one of the three main types of malignant mesoetheliomas.
See Mary Hesdorffer, a nurse practitioner and medical liaison for the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation, speak about the forms of mesothelioma and the corresponding affected regions of the body.
