Mesothelioma is a rare, aggressive cancer caused by asbestos exposure that most commonly affects the lungs (pleural mesothelioma) and abdomen (abdominal mesothelioma). Mary Hesdorffer, a nurse practitioner and Medical Liaison for the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation, gives an overview of mesothelioma cancer, an asbestos disease.  One of the particular difficulties of mesothelioma cancer, unlike certain other common cancers, is that it is difficult to image.
